C. Concerning the Acknowledgment, Preamble, and Declaration of Community Values
This amendment language is more language in the charter than is necessary. Potentially, this language could lead to claims of appropriating land that we “took”. We already have treaties in place and this language is well beyond what is required in reviewing a charter and suggesting recommendations.
For the reasons given we do not support this amendment
I support this proposition for purposes of letting the voters decide, for which purpose I have abstained rather than opposed this non-substantive proposition as it coursed through the CRC process.
